Snip Snip

For the first time in 31 weeks, according to the hairdresser, I got a hair cut.

As a result, I went from this...

to this...

Afterward, my ears were cold but I could hold my head up straighter. We'll see if I can go another 31 weeks.

Happy St Patricks Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day. The only holiday that has drinking as it's main purpose. Yes, you can eat corned beef, cabbage and soda bread but it is the pint of Guinness that makes the day special.

The updates have been slow as an update I was making to my PC did not go well. I was swapping out the Motherboard and attempting to go SATA only on my hard drives. That did not cooperate so I ended up having to put the original IDE drive into the PC and ended up with the same hardware configuration as before, just with an upgraded motherboard.

That is okay, I guess. It is still requiring reinstalling Windows on the IDE drive. I had hoped it would be okay after plugging the IDE drive in and installing the motherboard drivers but ut was not.

I'm now running my Windows updates and am in the middle of 112 updates.

With the Luck of the Irish, I'll be back up and running by the weekend.

Calling All Subscribers

I've been looking into a number of updates to the blog and thought readers might prefer to subscribe to the blog and be notified of new posts rather than have to check for new content. So I moved the subscribe area towards the top of the blog.

To subscribe, enter your email address to the right and submit your request. The blog does the rest of the work.

Another option is the RSS Feed. It is right below the subscribe option.

Take Me To Your ReMaster

I am working on remastering the tracks on the MUSIC page. They were recorded on an entry level Tascam 4-Track recorder. It had no EQ so the sound is completely natural. There is no EQ, no effects, no nothing.

I am since I am working on the already mixed two-track MP3 files, I am working at just adding reverb to soften the sound a bit. Long term, I would love to take the original master tapes and isolate the individual tracks in a program like Sessions or Garage Band.

That would be ideal but take a long, long time. I have no idea how oxidized the cassettes are now but I imagine they've started to degrade a bit. The real dream is to get a PC based multi-track recording software and start writing new music. Until then, it's reverb time.

My Entire Music Catalog on the Music Page

I have updated the Media page and renamed it Music because that is all the media I see being there for the foreseeable future. All 55 of my original compositions are on the site. I will list four at a time on that page. At the bottom of the page are details about each song, the album it is from and when it was recorded.

I have a few cover songs that I will add to the mix when I find the CD I dumped the master tapes to.

I hope you enjoy them.

The site is growing and growing

 And Leon's getting larger!!!

I've added a good deal of content to the site since this morning. JHWeb 2.0 is almost live. The Media page is something I am very proud of. It features audio players that allow you to listen to some of my original compositions. You may also download them and listen to them on your MP3 player.

I hope to add more content soon. Hopefully the Bears will bring me as much satisfaction tomorrow night as the work on the website.

And the White Sox do it again. Extra Innings this time.

 I haven't slept a wink.

So John isn't the only one. I've been pounding away at this thing to get it where it is right now and it's 2:10am. Time to turn in but it is "coming together".
